
Suzanne Pleshette, born 31 January 1937 and died 19 January 2008 was an American film, television, theatre, and voice actress. [1] Pleshette began her career in theatre and was first seen in films towards the end of the 1950s and later made appearances in movies of a prominent nature like Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), and Spirited Away (2001). Then, she was in several television productions and was often a guest actor. She was Emily Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show, 1972-1978 in which she earned several Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan),[1] and Eugene Pleshette, was born on January 31, 1937, in Brooklyn Heights. The parents of the couple were Jewish immigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary. Her mother was a dancer, artist and choreographer who performed under her stage name of Geraldine Rivers. Her father was a stage director at both the Paramount Theater and the Paramount Theater in Manhattan.
